Scam Central
I was having a great conversation with this guy on the dating app for over a week, but when I suggested getting together, he said "we'll see." The only reason someone would refuse a date is they're married or they're a scammer. I had originally thought it was the former but, after this exchange (plus I hadn't noticed the awkward syntax: "I will love to"), I realized it was the latter. Next day he unmatched with me...beat me to the punch lol
Such a bummer though. He seemed quite interesting and interested. Definitely a cut above the usual scammers, who are pretty easy to recognize (as I have noted in other posts). The new thing is to ask for your phone number right away (it used to be let's move to What's App, but I guess people got wise to that red flag).

Total honesty, belatedly
Turns out, this was not an accurate representation of why I didn't hear from him between Sunday and Thursday. Early in our Saturday dinner date, he told me he'd had a date on Wednesday night. (I suppose he was waiting to see how that went before he reached out to me.) Not sure why he felt the need to inform me, but it kinda ruined the vibe of our date...despite a promising first date, the tone on Saturday shifted to buddy dinner (he even showed me the other woman's profile on Facebook Dating and we talked a bit about dating apps). Needless to say, we won't be seeing each other again.
