Another scammer

I really fell for this Rico Suave act, but asking a move to Telegram is a huge red flag. NGL, I'm bummed though. Online dating is all scammers and fuck bois I guess

Timing is everything

So these are real accounts, I'm pretty sure, but wow, talk about cutting to the chase.

I just told this guy that my dog is dying and he thought that was the perfect time to tell me he wants to hit this.

This guy doesn't even give me a chance to talk about what I think is fun before he tells me he wants to hit this.

Local activism

Super cool local news coverage of the letter writing group I attended on Sunday (and brought 5 other people to as well). You can see me in the back right corner of this screenshot:

Vibe murder in the first degree

I found this bizarre: I thought we were totally vibing and out of the blue he says, "How old are you? I need to hear it from you." It didn't even seem like the same person. Why is my age suddenly so important?

App attack

This is one of the weirdest conversations I've had yet (and it's a fake account obvi)

Sucky sequels

Wow, I watched 3 sequels recently and they were all disappointing:

Old Guard 2

Accountant 2

Another Simple Favor

None of these sequels were as fun and fresh as the originals, which is not especially surprising, but I felt all 3 leaned into the baser elements of the movies that came before, and as a result, lost what made each charming and poignant. Such as shame.

More fake accounts

I'm sure this is just a coincidence that 2 people in one day claim to live in the same small town south of KC...

This guy unmatched with me as soon as I sent that final message, as several "people" have recently. This feels like such a waste of time.

When the first thing they ask you is how long you've been on the app, it's a fake account (this flowery pitch about true love is also very common and seems very fake). I don't know if Tinder uses these accounts for marketing, or maybe to sustain engagement, but it seems more likely that they are trying to scam you (they often ask you to give you a phone number or switch to WhatsApp). It's gotten so at least 25% of the accounts I interact with immediately ask me how long I've been on the app. Here's more of the same:

Another sign of fakery is that they don't actually respond to what I say in my posts:

Nice lady, fun times

He asked me how dating is going (which so many men do, and which I think is such an inappropriate question), so I answered it. I thought his response was so perfect (not trying to have actual emotions here lol!)

Pace yourself ffs

We exchanged phone numbers less than 24 hours ago. Jesus, pace yourself. At least it's not a dick pic.

I'm so disappointed in this interaction because his profile is really promising:
